Κατοικία Αναφοράς | Eduardo Souto de Moura - House in Moledo

       Το κτήριο είναι κατασκευασμένο σε μια πρώην αγροτική περιοχή, στην πόλη Moledo do Minho της βόρειας Πορτογαλίας. Το οικόπεδο βρίσκεται σε μια απόκρημνη πλαγιά με θέα στον Ατλαντικό Ωκεανό. Είναι χωρισμένο σε επίπεδα, υποστηριζόμενα από πέτρινους τοίχους ύψους 1,50 m.  Η διαμόρφωση του εδάφους κόστισε περισσότερο από την κατασκευή του κτηρίου. Ο Edouardo Souto de Moura είχε κατασκευάσει προηγουμένως το house in Baiao, έργο παρόμοιας κατασκευής.

Το σπίτι είναι 180 τ.μ. και αποτελείται από τους εξής χώρους : κουζίνα, τραπεζαρία, τρία υπνοδωμάτια, δύο μπάνια, αίθριο, έναν μεγάλο διάδρομο, γκαρνταρόμπα και δωμάτιο ντουλάπα.

Τα υλικά που έχουν χρησιμοποιηθεί είναι πέτρα, οπλισμένο σκυρόδεμα, ξύλο, αλουμίνιο και γυαλί.

  “After the experience at the Baiao House, I felt that it would be more natural in Portugal, to design wooden frames. To this end, the roof has to be exposed to view, declar itself a new object, visible as if it fallen from the sky.

The project set out to redesign another, earlier house, analogous in terms of site, programe and materials.

One exception, one aspect that was not a redesign, is that we had to reconstruct the hillside with new retaining walls and platforms, and this cost more than the house itself.

The client, as an intelligent man, was in agreement, and during seven years the house progressively gained in autonomy, passing from the redesign to the specific design for the occupants and the site which we progressively discovered and modified.”
